Intellectual Engagement:
AP Calculus BC
For my Intellectual Engagement pillar I continued my AP Calculus BC course in preparation for the AP test. The class continued mostly as normal, except we only met 3 times a week, and on Mondays and Fridays we met in the Community Room for class which was a fun new format.

01
Parametric Unit
Parametric equations was the first topic we covered after spring break. Despite experiencing a dramatic drop in academic motivation, I really enjoyed this unit and the new format of our class.
02
Polar Unit
The best way I can explain Polar is this: a person is standing at the origin and they are given an angle to spin around, then a distance to walk away from the origin. In class, we then had the privilege to calculate the distance inside the shapes drawn by the person walking.

03
AP Test Prep
Then the AP Prep began! We spent a few weeks reviewing past units and practicing AP style questions. We also took a take home AP practice test.
04
Multivariable Calculus
After the AP exam we covered a few different multivariable calculus topics briefly including dot products, vectors, and cross products. I enjoyed this unit but please do not ask me to be able to produce anything I learned because it only somewhat made sense.
